ABOUT
Siam Thai is a casual Thai restaurant and neighborhood watering hole located in Kapitolyo. You can chill here for hours with our unique Mookata grill, extensive drink selection including local microbrews, or catch the latest basketball game on our screens. Whether you’re looking for real Thai dishes or just a place to unwind, we have something for you.
Chef Kiat from Thailand teamed up with a Japanese entrepreneur to bring the next level of Thai cuisine to the country. We opened in mid-2016 and we’re proud to be the first to bring Mookata to Manila—a hybrid Thai hot pot and barbecue enjoying resurgence in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia. With our Mookata grill and comforting but authentic entrées, we’re happy to pay tribute to Thailand’s rich culinary culture and share our tradition of bringing people together with good food.
WHAT IS MOOKATA?
Mookata is a traditional meal from Northern Thailand that combines the best of barbecue and hot pot, and it’s a complete feast on its own. Meat and seafood are grilled on top of the dome, and a light chicken broth simmers at the base of the grill. Let the juices from the top drip down into the broth, throw in some fresh veggies and noodles into the soup and before you know it—you’re slurping it up with Thai sweet chili-sauce like a Chiang Mai local. Even if you didn’t try it in Thailand, with us you’ll feel like you did.
CLASSIC THAI DISHES
We have the classic dishes that any self-respecting Thai restaurant has, and we do them right. Our comforting Pad Thai Noodles hit the spot with fresh shrimp, tofu, and egg—good for sharing or as a complete meal for one. For something different, try out our Chicken Green Curry, a uniquely Thai green chili-based curry balanced with the creaminess of coconut milk.
Our Chicken Satay and Tenderloin Satay will satisfy meat lovers because of the tender meat we choose, all served with a special house dip rather than your usual peanut sauce. And of course we have Tom Yum soup, the spicy-sour dish we know and love complete with fresh shrimp, the refreshing taste of fresh lemongrass, and a surprising depth in flavor.

MENU

Step 1. Rub pork fat all over the dome. It’ll keep the meat from sticking and make it tastier.
Step 2. Watch the serving staff pour the light chicken broth into the base of the grill.
Step 3. Grill the meat on top of the dome: beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. Can’t decide which one should go first? Who cares, cook all the meat! Cook it with confidence: the Mookata grill allows you to let the meat sear without charring.
Step 4. Cook the fresh veggies and noodles in the base. When ready, add it to your soup bowl and dig in.
Step 5. Eat the meat! Dip it into our signature Thai sweet chili-sauce or mirin-based Japanese sauce for a surprising twist. Or just eat the meat as is, because any method of eating good food is perfectly fine.
Repeat as much as necessary. And do try the soup multiple times, you’ll be surprised by how the flavor changes depending on what you had cooking on the grill.
You can order a standard Mookata platter (P390) and add extra toppings if you like, or you could go all out with the unlimited Mookata set (P599/person*) where your stomach capacity is the only limit. Either way, whichever Mookata you choose is bound to be delicious and glorious.
